THE PROJECT
I worked within the AKQA Design and UX team for Jio, a huge global telecoms client.
Jio is a global telecom leader, the largest operator in India and the second-largest single-country operator worldwide. It also provides a wide range of apps and digital services including shopping, music, games, cinema and news.
As a team, we redesigned the navigation of MyJio, a multi-service app that consolidates all the company's services and apps in one place.
The original MyJio app was a dense and busy interface. All services - ranging from Mobile and Fiber services to the mini-apps - were put to an equal level. Many services could be missed entirely unless the user swipes to the very end.
The challenge was to streamline the navigation experience and offer easy access to all features.
The challenge was to streamline the navigation experience and offer easy access to all features.
I was deeply involved in both the UX and UI aspects of this project:
- UX: I helped forming a new logic for the navigation, that’s baked by users inputs during testing sessions.
- UI: I then polished the UI and I contributed to the MyJio design system by adding a comprehensive section dedicated to navigation, outlining every element, pattern, and interaction behavior.
